Business Development Assistant – Our Firm:

This role will report to the Client Development Manager (CDM) and will work closely with other members of the global BD & Marketing (BD&M) team as required.

Business Development Assistant – The Role:

You will provide support to the CDM and assist with the coordination of several key client accounts. Squire Patton Boggs is launching a Client Programme with the following key objectives, which this role will be supporting to deliver:

– Position SPB to receive more of the client’s legal spend and high-value work

– Strengthen and protect key and growing client relationships

– Develop the framework of a structured approach to revenue growth and opportunity development

– Support the client relationship partners in their revenue development initiatives

– You will also provide general support as required to the wider business development team.

Business Development Assistant – Key Responsibilities:

– Coordination responsibility for a designated number of client accounts – administration of client plans, contact relationship mapping and reporting

– Liaise with the Client Relationship Team to understand and support the strategic objectives and related actions to grow the client relationships

– Central point of contact for the internal client team, manage communication and information flow within the team, including arranging internal client service team meetings

– Build up an understanding of the client’s business, relevant markets, product areas, and issues

– Ensure client contacts are included in targeted mailings of legal updates, webinars, thought leadership – and other SPB marketing and value add initiatives

– With the CDM, work with the lead partner and wider members of the business development team to coordinate and follow up on client feedback, including post pitch, post transaction/matter and relationship reviews

– Contribute to and develop client action plans for each client within their remit

– Support the CDM with reporting, updating best practice methods and tools

Work with the wider BD&M team as required on global initiatives where additional support resources may be needed. This will include:

– Supporting the team with the arranging of internal and external seminars, client events and client training sessions as and when required

– Providing support for pitches and other client-focused revenue growth opportunities for clients within their remit

– Updating the firms business development activity tracking tool (MyNextMatter)

– Working with the BDMs or lawyers to identify relevant deals and cases regarding league tables, directories, experience tracking or other rankings/distinctions for the firm and assisting with the management of the submission process for such league tables, directories, experience tracking, awards, distinctions, and surveys

Business Development Assistant – You:

– An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in a Business Development/Marketing discipline or similar

– At least 5GCSEs A*-C (4-9) including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications

– A minimum of 112 UCAS points (B,B,C) from top 3 A Levels or equivalent qualifications

– A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

– A keen interest in client relationship management and business development activities

– Professional attitude and ability to work under pressure

– Flexibility regarding hours and travelling to other UK offices, dependent on operational needs will be required
